Stuart Florida

Stuart, one of South Florida’s most desirable coastal areas, features miles of beautiful beaches and waterways. The City of Stuart is located in the region known as the Treasure Coast, which comprises three counties along the eastern seaboard: Martin County, St. Lucie County, and Indian River County.

If you enjoy water and waterfront views, you will certainly love Stuart, Florida, as this city is nestled around several waterways. Residents who live in Stuart enjoy boating, surfing, sunbathing, and fishing. The city of Stuart proudly promotes itself as the “Sailfish Capital of the World,” and the first Stuart Fishing Guide was published by the Stuart Daily News in 1935. Historically, Stuart has been known as “the place to fish,” offering both intra-coastal and ocean fishing opportunities. Alongside the abundance of water activities, Stuart boasts outstanding dining and cultural experiences as well.

The downtown area of Stuart is home to a beautiful theater where you can enjoy a variety of shows. The Lyric Theater, built in 1925, initially operated as a silent movie house until the Great Depression, when it was temporarily closed and eventually sold. In 1987, a downtown redevelopment effort commenced, and a group of community-minded individuals recognized the significance of the Lyric Theater, situated in the heart of downtown Stuart, and seized the opportunity to save this historic landmark.

Since its restoration, the Lyric Theater has hosted hundreds of events, including classical theater performances, rock and country bands, orchestral and jazz concerts, dance recitals, and school programs, featuring nationally known performers.

In addition to the great theater scene, downtown Stuart offers numerous boutiques for shopping, excellent restaurants for dining, and quaint cafes that line the streets, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The shop owners in downtown Stuart curate unique inventories that you won’t find anywhere else. Like many residents, I love to spend at least one of my weekend evenings in downtown Stuart. I can park my car and walk to enjoy all that it has to offer.

If you are considering a move to Florida, you should definitely put Stuart on your list of places to research. There are many communities in Stuart to choose from and a wide selection of homes that will satisfy and exceed your expectations.
