Downtown Jensen Beach – Crawdaddy’s N’awlins Grill

Downtown Jensen Beach.

This quaint little town offers charming shops, beautiful oak lined streets and a nice variety of eating establishments. Located in the northern portion of Martin County and nestled right long the Indian River, downtown Jensen Beach is small. If you’re looking for a laid-back atmosphere, with personal service,  this area of the Treasure Coast hits the spot. Jensen Beach is certainly not a large metropolis of nightlife and clubbing, so if that’s what you’re looking for,  you might be a bit disappointed. But have no fear, even though it’s small,  Jensen still packs a punch.

One of my favorites spots for an evening out in Jensen is Crawdaddy’s N’awlines Grill and Raw Bar. This establishment features Cajun food and the authentic sounds of the French quarter. If you like good food and live music you will surely enjoy an evening at Crawdaddy’s. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating, however, the inside seating area is small and fills up quickly. But why would you dine inside when you can enjoy fresh Florida breezes, beautiful landscaping and live entertainment on the lovely cobblestone patio outside. Crawdaddy’s has two bars so you can enjoy your favorite beverages and they also have an outside oyster bar if you want to order up some raw seafood.

The food is a flavorful Cajun cuisine with a New Orleans twist and they serve up a fresh catch daily. Blacken Dolphin with Bourdon peaches is one of my favorite meals. Crawdaddy’s is open for both lunch and dinner, however, if you are looking for a quiet dining atmosphere lunch will be your best bet. In the evening they have live entertainment and it can be loud. I always ask for a table near the back away from the band. Sitting closer to the Banyan bar still allows me to hear the band and have a conversation with someone without shouting.

Residing in Florida allows you to enjoy open air dining nearly 12 months out of the year, so of course, this makes Crawdaddy’s a place you might frequent. There are many great open-air dining spots here in Martin County so choosing can be difficult,  but I’d have to say Crawdaddy’s is one of my favorite choices.
