Improve your Golf Swing in the Treasure Coast

Golfing In The Treasure Coast

So, is golf your thing? Or maybe it’s your husbands thing? Well, have no fear, I can help you with your golf endeavors.  Most people know the Treasure Coast as a great place to fish, but we have no shortage of golf courses either. So, if you enjoy golf, you should consider the Treasure Coast as a place to reside.

Here in the Treasure Coast we have beautiful beaches, great fishing and we also have dozens of golf course communities. And of course these neighborhoods offer some of the most breathtaking landscapes you will ever see. So, why not consider this beautiful backdrop as a place to live. Residing in a community that provides both great recreation and lush scenery is possible here in the Treasure Coast.

PRIVATE – SEMI PRIVATE – PUBLIC

There are basically three types of golf communities to consider. First, there is the private club. These clubs require an upfront membership fee and then monthly/annual fees once you join the golf club. Many of these private clubs require you to purchase the golf membership in order to buy a home in the development. So, you can’t purchase a home unless you pay for the golf.  Neighborhoods like Pipers Landing and Harbour Ridge would fall into this category. Both clubs have spectacular homes, beautifully landscaped streets, 24 hour manned security and impeccable courses. You will also find some excellent real estate values in these communities, however, you need to factor in the golf. The golf membership can be a hefty carrying cost so weigh this carefully before you jump in.

Your second choice would be a semi-private golf club. These type of communities normally requires some type of membership, but it could be a less expensive social membership. Semi-private clubs normally cater to the resident and non-resident members. This means you don’t have to live in the community to join. So, the good news is you could live in a condo on the beach and purchase a golf membership across town in one of these beautiful communities. I personally like this because you can enjoy golf and take part in the social activities at the club too. It’s kind of like having your cake and eating too, you know, the best of both worlds.

And last but not least are the public golfing communities. Not to be confused with a public golf course, because we have one of those too. So, added to our mix are the communities that allow public play. Along the Treasure Coast you will find certain neighborhoods that maintain a full 18-hole golf course and are completely open to the public. These neighborhoods do not require you to purchase any type of membership in order to live in the community and this is a nice perk because many people enjoy the golfing atmosphere,  but don’t actually want to play the course.

I will also mention that another benefit to the public golf neighborhoods is the flexibility they offer. These communities don’t require long term contracts on the golf memberships. What this means is you can buy one year and skip the next if you want. But, if you really like to golf I think the membership is usually worth the investment, because getting a dismal tee time every time you call can be depressing.  These public play communities are not as fancy as the private and semi-private clubs, but remember, you’re not paying the big bucks either.

Whether you’re looking for a condo, town-home of single family house, most of the golfing communities in  Martin and St Lucie County will have a wide selection of properties to fit your lifestyle.
